Hello to all using CT on macOS,
Does any of you have experience with the development using CT on Apple silicon? I'm still on the Intel platform and all works fine. I'm about to upgrade to a new Mac, and I would like to know if I should still wait or if it is possible to switch already now. As the CT doesn't yet support the Apple silicon natively (or am I mistaken?), is it possible to run CT under Rosetta 2? Thanks for any info.

Regards

Premek

Thanks Matis for the reply. I understood, from the other discussions, that the CT team has the support of Apple silicon on their list, but your resources are limited. My question was mostly directed to the comunity. I thought that there is someone using CT on that platform and give us a feedback.

As ws said in one of the previous discussions, Intel on Mac is reached its end. My computer will not upgrade to Tahoe and above. Hope that the CT team will be able to catch up with the Apple silicon platform. I've sent you some finacial support recently. I know that it will not solve your finacial support, but hope that it can help. Thanks for your very good job.

Tried, it doesn't even compile the fpc on a mac mini M4:

Since it was not my mac and I'm a mac noob too, I didn't even try to dive deeper.

I just crossed over the project FPCUP (github.com/LongDirtyAnimAlf/fpcupdeluxe). You probably know about it. It provides the installation of FPC and Lazarus of different versions, but also cross-compilation. I tested to compile for Darwin aarch64 on my Intel machine, and it worked. Probably, you can look at it to help you see how they do it.

I'm very much addicted to the CT as it proposes many more components and better GUI options for me. Thanks for your nice work, and I will keep supporting you.

So, best wishes and all good in the New Year.
