We release LAB CodeTyphon Ver 8.50 Revision 008420
Please test, report and suggest.

CT 8.50 tested using distribution Debian GNU/Linux 12.
Projects (gtk2, pl_RX, pl_FpSpreadsheet, lz_SQLdb(sqlite)), no problems found.

DBText behavior has changed in CT 8.4 and CT 8.5. Instead of displaying real text, there is a "Memo" remark.

Version 8.50 rev. 8420 installed on Windows 11 and Linux Mint 21.3, projects run fine under the new version.
I do see that the order of the Yes and No button when installing a component are still different on Linux (No-Yes) and Windows (Yes-No) which is confusing and inconsistent.

Since this is a Delphi component that, according to the documentation, is dependent on Delphi vcl, how is this relevant for FreePascal, Lazarus and CodeTyphon?

According to sources of redis client for Delphi, not any single file uses vcl or fire monkey only sample files examples uses vcl or fire monkey. Redis client uses Indy but it provides wrapper to use any tcp library. There are some libraries in CT with permissive license that are already converted from Delphi. Redis uses Apache 2.0 which is also permissive. Redis is available for Linux , Mac and on windows through subsystem. Redis can be beneficial for web applications, distributed apps, message queue. It has in memory data structures with benefits of data persistence on disks, replication, high availability and as a cache for large data sources. If CT team thinks that it is useful then consider this request. Thanks.

Upgraded my CodeTyphon to revision 008460 both on my Windows 11 and my Linux Mint 22 computer without any problems.
Quickly tested my 32-bit and 64-bit projects on the new release in Windows and Linux and all are behaving as they should.

Uncheck:

Close IDE

Start IDE
and get error [[[
Internal error: TDesktopOpt.Assign mixed
docked/undocked desktops.

Press OK to ignore and risk data corruption.
Press Abort to kill the program.
]]]

Cannot start IDE!
The only way to repair it is to delete options folder
C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\typhon64
