I installed the latest version of CodeTyphon Windows 7 (32bit)
When I launch Typhon (Typhon> Typhon Run 32) I get the following error:
in french :
Erreur : "L'ordinal 3873 est introuvable dans la bibliothèque de liens dynamiques LIBEAY32.dll
English translation :
Error : The ordinal 3873 could not be found in the dynamic link library LIBEAY32.dll
I ignore the error and it works normally !

Sir my suggestion
is to check your PC OS installation
CT don't request this library.

There's need for smth of completely different level than an ordinar registry clean.
Try Revo Uninstaller (hope this won't be classified as an ads) and remove any uninportant/useless for you/"tag-along"software.
Also try one theese: pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessag...nd-missing-error.htm

  1. regsvr32.exe /u libeay32.dll
  2. clean registry
  3. regsvr32.exe libeay32.dll

Thank you for your very interesting answers.
I solved the problem by installing CodeTyphon on another "clean" machine (windows 64bit)
Everything works fine.

libeay and ssleay libraries are both part of an installed version of openSSL. I suggest you either to uninstall openSSL and clean registry, either to reinstall it to try to fix it.

A+

Thank you for this suggestion.
But after checking, OpenSSL is not installed on the PC.
Anyway, as I said, I solved the problem by installing CodeTyphon on another PC over net.
A+

Problem resides in file lNetSSL.pp witch has on initialization SslLibraryInit.
I have also this error on typhon32, and also when i compile LazPaint for example.
In LazPaint pl_lnet is included in lpr directly in line ending with //9999.
I noticed that all modifications made to lazarus/fpc svn are marked with //9999.

I think that the problem is in pl_LNet package.

Hi,

problems with DLLs are a lot common.
You have first to know how Windows looks for a DLL, it is detailled here : Dynamic-Link Library Search Order
It has some drawbacks of course: Fixing the DLL loading vulnerability
When installing software (for example FileZilla), new versions of DLL are added to your system.
Sometimes they are already loaded in memory, or from System32, that's why you often have to reboot your machine to finish a new install...

Ordinals are just another way to find a DLL's function address (faster than finding it by its name), and can depend on specific version of the DLL.
You could need to compile again your packages depending on such libs after install of new version.
It has nothing to do with a cleaning of the registry !

Anyway my advice would be to keep as much as possible the latest version of a DLL available system-wide (in system32) and if an old specific version is required, keep it along with the application in its own folder.
Do the "regsvr32.exe xxx.dll" only for the DLL found in system32 and the rebuild your component depending on them.

hmprof "solved" his problem by install CT on another "clean" machine, only the last version of the librairies have been taken in account for .dcu/.ppu generation !
When an optimized component tries to refer to the wrong version it can't work ;)
