Perhaps it should be noted that version 12.3-32 has small problems starting FTP server
(I tried with vsftp and pure-ftpd without success) if someone develops this kind of app ...
Regards
p.s. I've seen several posts on SuSe forum and I wrote some...

My suggestion for develop Internet Server app is
to use CentOS or Scientific Linux
95% of Internet linux servers use CentOS

I will test tomorrow Suse 12.3 32 and FTP server

Maybe usefull(message from openSuSe forum):
***************
The problem is somewhere in pam authorization. I had to switch to pure-ftp and comment out the pam authorization and uncomment unix authorization in the pure-ftp config and it works...

Regards
p.s. I didn't try

Yes, Sir, I use FTP to store DICOM images and PostgreSQL database references that down. That allows to store all records for later use, and finding the right per patient.
Thanks for the interest.
Regards

p.s. Also, I have full confidence in use of openSUSE(have srv more then 7 years, works perfectly).
