Just to set things straight and help anyone avoid trouble, in order to build current versions of BigIDE, 8 GB of RAM are required.

This means you can do away with e.g. 4 GB of RAM + 4 GB of swap space, but if you have 4 GB of RAM + less than 4 GB of swap space you will meet the infamous "fpcres not found" message.

If you are on Linux and you use systemd-swap for dynamic swapfile management, make sure swapfc_chunk_size is set to (at least) the required swap space beforehand (that is 4 GB swapfc_chunk_size for 4 GB of RAM).

A large chunk of memory has to be allocated at once near the end of the process and swap space in Linux has to be already available when it is requested for the operation to succeed. So setting swapfc_chunk_size to e.g. 2 GB when 4 GB of swap space is needed will lead to failure.
