The download and build of the latest versions has gone well - thank you. But when I try to add a package to my IDE, for example, fpspreadsheet or KControls, everything compiles without error, but when the new IDE is started, the splash screen comes up for a second and then goes away. I never get the IDE loaded. If I go back to update manager and rebuild CT, it will load and run. How do I get other packages installed?

Sir
First of all
1)-MacOS "Cocoa" and "Carbon" platforms have some problems at current CT versions 5.6/ Lab 5.7,
we try to solve these problems.

2)-My suggestion for MacOS is to use Typhon IDE build for QT4 (as host Platform)
from CTCenter like here
Macports take some time to build QT4, but the Typhon IDE works much better
You can build Typhon IDE and for GTK2 if you want (yes on MacOS) and to use CTCenter (prebuild) for QT4 or GTK2 or Carbon
For any Typhon IDE build (QT4, GTK2 or Carbon) you can make applications for any CT target platforms info
yes this is "Ultimate Programming Technology" and the fact is that this ability is unique on planet.

3)-For Typhon IDE Packages please look here , we try to "port" for MacOS as many as we can...
but this is not so simple.

4)- MacOS at this CT stage is NOT our favorite OS, but you can always help us to improve CT MacOS support

We want help... :)

Believe me, it's not my favorite either. I'm only doing it in self-defense so my Windows software can be sold to Apple users. Thanks for the help. I'm trying your suggestions right now.

No luck with the QT4 install. Same results as before - loads and runs fine after the build, add a package and it compiles, starts up, and then closes down.
I'm willing to help diagnose - is there a way to see what might be happening 'backstage' as the splash screen comes up?

Start TyphonIDE in a terminal
typhon-ide64 or typhon-ide32
