Hello,

It seems that something did not install correctly, because the resource compiler cannot be launched.
Can you remove CodeTyphon completely and try to install it as a normal (non-root or sudo) user?
The installation scripts will ask you for the sudo password when needed.

P.S: make sure that /usr/lib/codetyphon is completely removed before starting the installation again.

Sir,
My suggestion don't use "sudo su".
Run install script as normal user
after first prompt give your pass

Hi Italico,

The option to remove completely CodeTyphon is - from install.sh - 2.
Please try this:

1. Use - as normal user - the install.sh script and use the option to remove Codetyphon completely.
2. While you are on the console, type: sudo rm -r /usr/lib/codetyphon
3. As a normal user, execute the install.sh script and do in order: 1) install system libraries, 0) install Codetyphon.
4. After installation, choose the option 8) Remove and Build All.

Please try these steps and post back the results.
Thank you.

Hi Frontier314.
I followed your 4 notes.
After

1. Use - as normal user - the install.sh script and use the option to remove Codetyphon completely.

/usr/lib/codetyphon is removed and

2. While you are on the console, type: sudo rm -r /usr/lib/codetyphon

give me an error (It is normal).

Final result is always the same:
Warning: Spoiler!

I add 2 images of CodeTyphon Center: Status and Libraries. In status missing rows and in libraries many lines it says NOT FOUND.

I am really puzzled with this compilation behaviour; I have installed CT 3 on Kubuntu 12.4/12.10 x64 without issues and currently I'm using it on Arch x64 (upgrade to CT 3.10 done this Monday).

Could it be - regarding the missing libraries you mention - that your Ubuntu installation needs updating? I can try installing Ubuntu 12.10 on a Virtualbox VM to test.

1. Installed Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64 version using a VirtualBox VM (2GB RAM, 2 Cores).
2. After installation a full system update was performed (about 160MB of updates). Reboot.
3. Started CodeTyphon install.sh script from a command prompt as a regular user (i.e no sudo or su).
4. Selected option "1. Install System Libraries". The script completed without errors.
5. Selected option "0. Install CodeTyphon" and then from the build menu chose "8. Remove and build ALL".
Lazarus Small IDE was built, executables stripped. Then Lazarus BigIDE built, external tools built, executables were stripped.

Everything worked fine, see attached picture.
The fact that there are missing libraries in CodeTyphon Control Centre does not cause any problem with the compilation.

The only thing I can recommend is to remove CodeTyphon completely, fully update your system and try installation again.
Ubuntu is known for notorious patching of packages (i.e it's an easy to install distro but does not work well with third-party packages like CodeTyphon), breaking package compatibility.

Hello and thanks for answer.
Have install CodeTyphon 3.1 on Ubuntu 12.04.
First have installed the libraries from Codetyphon : ok.
Then installed CodeThyphon.
Everything goes perfect, Lazarus big ide installed ok.
Installed cross-compil for windows 32 and 64, cross-compil on Lazarus working.
Installed also cross-compil for linux 64 : ok.
But if i try to cross-compil in Lazarus for linux 64 i get error from compiler, libraries missing, (like in codetyphon "Libraries".
Like Dibo explained i have done copy of shortcut libraries with *.o.
Still missing libraries...

Where is the problem ?

PS It could be a great "plus" if, in the window "Big Ide", we can choose what component to install (lots of are not usefull for me and that make compil much longer...)

Thanks

Sir
if you try cross build from linux32 to linux64
you must select a MultiArch Linux destitution info
like "OpenSuSE Linux 64bit"

OR you must "make" your Ubuntu MultiArch help
and this is NOT so simple

so 64bits OS libraries missing from your PC

Linux OS limitations...

Only, Windows64 and OpenIndiana/Solaris info are "true" MultiArch OSes at this time...

and a real time screen ...

Thanks for answer.
Before i had Ubuntu 12.04 64 bits installed and no problem to cross-compil from Linux 64 bits into linux 32 bits with CodeThyphon...

But i just buy a new laptop with new Cedarview intel processor (Toshiba nb510).
Sadly, until now, it does not exists any 64 bits drivers for Cedarview graphic card. (For Windows exists a beta 64 bits drivers functioning more or less).

So, for Linux im obliged to use a 32 bit version and im so sad to know that it is not possible to cross compil from 32 bits to 64 bits.

PS : Why do you not use "Dynamic Loading of Libraries" with CodeTyphon, in Lazarus that works perfectly and so you can choose the directory of the needed libraries ?

By the way, congratulations for your superb job.

Hello Frontier314,

Unfortunately that not successfuly on a Debian SID up to date.
Small IDE compile without errors but not big IDE.
I make exactly your process and I get always the same error :

/usr/bin/ld: warning: ../link.res contains output sections; did you forget -T?
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXxf86vm
lazarus.pp(249,1) Error: Error while linking

Just a precision, only libXxf86vm-dev was installable, libXxf86vm do not is available but there was libXxf86vm1 already installed.
However, now the BIG IDE compile without errors.

Thank you very much.

libXxf86vm-dev is already present in my system and it is updated.
Regarding libXxf86vm from the terminal I get: "E: Can not find PACKAGE QWE".

So nothing has changed in my system and the problem remains.
I remain available for any test. Thank you again.
