Hi, I get Error: Can't call resource compiler during setup, the setup stops running at this point.

Here is what I did:

1. Installed ubuntu11.04
2. Installed mobile wireless driver for internet access - connected to internet
3. Unzip CodeTypehonIns and ran ./install.sh
4. Opened another terminal window and added my username to sudoers
5. Installed libraries - received "Finished" message
6. Ran ./setup.sh to get the menu again
7. Selected option (8) Remove and build all

When it gets to lazarus.pp it bombs out with message that "BIG IDE NOT Build" message.

Any ideas??

I notice in Synaptic Package Manager that a quick filter for fp- doesn't show any items in the installed status, it only lists fp- items in the uninstalled status and for version 2.4.0-2, is this normal or should synaptic show installed packages for free pascal? My directory for codetypon/../fpc seems to be for 2.7.1 Note: I am able to open lazarus and compile a default project, but I can't add any other packages, or compile the lazarus.lpi project due to the message about not able to open resource compiler, any suggestions what to look for? Should I try to re-install anything, I tried to re-install the system libraries but it said there was nothing needing to be done.

please remove and /etc/fpc.cfg

and try to install/build again

Ok I'll give it a go, I have removed fpc.cfg and done the remove all using install.sh

I have executed install.sh to install system libraries and notice I get this message

E: Unable to locate package gcc-c+
E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'gcc-c+'
E: Unable to locate package binutils-devel

It continues anyway and I get "Finished!!!" at the end, is it a problem??

I shall carry on and install the rest..

I'm using an old pentium3 machine with 384Meg RAM can that be the problem?

I'd prefer to dedicate this old machine for playing around with ubuntu/codeTyphon. My other machines have windows and I can't risk doing anything to them at the moment.

For low power tests we use VirtualBox 4.1.6 (30Gb HardDisk, 2048Gb RAM, 2CPUs)
with Debian 6.03 or WindowsXP
