Please use "Ubuntu Classic" (GTK2) UI from login screen
the new Ubuntu User Interface (UI) it's a tragedy ... at this time...
The problem is from Ubuntu "Unity" UI.

Sorry for repeating the same thing, but in my other theme there's no answer, so...

Anyway, I must report that in 2.1 we have broken TGLBitmap font even under Win XP. I've project WITH normal font rendering (created in 1.6) and just rebuild it. As a result - all russian symbols are gone from the screen...

And this happens under ubuntu 10.10, 11.04 and Win XP sp3.
After rollback to 1.6 all works!
I'm not sure for 1.8, cause right now I need working glscene more then tests... You see I've my vacation reaching it's end... So I wanna do smth while I have time on that still. I even have my XP system recovered, cause for some reason Lazarus crashes right after I press f12 to show a form with GLSceneViewer.
I hope some one knows how to fix this...
