Hi,

I've been using Code Typhon for about a year now, and enjoy it's flexibility and power. However I need to update a library component, and when attempting to use the Code Typhon Update manager (as per the following web link). I do not see any Server Items listed:

www.pilotlogic.com/sitejoom/index.php/wi...r/194-update-manager

When I hit "Check for Updates" no server items are ever listed. It does not matter what package I click on, or what I do, this is alway empty. Update manager (version 6.00) reports as follows:
CTCenter 6.00
for x86_64-linux-gtk2

That's all it does! Is there something else I have to setup somewhere?

The problem is sudo root privileges
sudo: no tty present and no askpass program specified

CTCenter (NOT Typhon IDE) must execute from a user with sudo root privileges

Thanks!

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 with Code Typhon version 6.00

I'll take a look, but really don't want to create super user privileges with no password, as that sound far too hazardous. Why doesn't Code Typhon Center prompt for password when required instead? That appears to be the convention with everything else. In addition, the page I referenced in my original question should direct a person to the sudo page with something like "if you don't see anything pop up on the screen, confirm you have sudo privileges as described here". Another alternative is for CTC to come up with a big bold error "No sudo privileges!" instead of blankly doing nothing... Just my 2 cents worth.

In your case you must
execute all CTCenter action with

-"Run in xterm" or
-"Run in xterm and wait"

methods

-NOT with "Run Embedded" method

More here

The logic of CTCenter is not so simple,
but after 30 years on unix systems, I thing we make the best...
The same OS scripts run on Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, OpenIndiana and MacOS
