Has anybody already tried to compile DevExpress source files with CodeTyphon?

I myself have begun trying, because I would like to use a Delphi project which contains DevExpress components for a Linux device.

But CodeTyphon produced rather painful error messages, such as:

dxCore.pas(1955,13) Error: Identifier not found "ElementToCharLen"

There seems to be no function "ElementToCharLen" for Free Pascal.

In some cases I inserted workaround solutions in the DevExpress source code for such error messages, but I began to doubt whether the whole undertaking is worth the effort, since I do not even know how many error messages or other (possibly insoluble) problems are still to be expected.

I would like to learn of your experiences or your background knowledge:

• Is it possible at all to use DevExpress source code in CodeTyphon?
• Is it worth the effort?
• What hints and tricks would make my task easier?
