Is it possible to create a LINUX DISTRO (x32 and x64) with CODETYPHON installed and DBMS like MariaDB, (or MySQL), Firebird, PostgreSQL?

I tested a lot of distros trying to install CodeTyphon and allways I found troubles.

Also, I would be nice to create an image to use with Linux for VirtualBox with all tools for programmers (Midnight Commander, SQlite and so on...)

I'm sick of Windows, I'm comming from Delphi and I want speed for my programs. I tested CodeTyphon in Windows and I was surprised about the speed. I imagine that kind of development...

But my Linux knowledge is limited: I used Linux and I know that it is, by far, faster than Windows.

I dont know why Linux distros include "Anjuta" for example, and they dont include CodeTyphon...

Thank You for your answer.

I have hopes on CT. I tried to make it work on OpenSUSE, Linux Mint, Ubuntu...I cound not. May be it's me.

I have a modest PC I3 with 4Gb with VMware 10. I use Windows 7 and Delphi XE3 in it. I have VMWare 10. I can use VirtualBox too.

Can you suggest me a good Linux distribution x64, light and fast, to work with CT? What is the fastest and nice Graphic Desktop to work with CT?

Any suggest would be appreciate.

Regards, my Friend.

Pablo

Sir
we use a lot Fedora Workstation 22 64bits with ALL Desktops (CT MultiArch) and
"mother" Debian 64bits with ALL Desktops
We work a lot with MATE desktop (CT for GTK2).

But we have ALL basics Linux Distributions in our LAB

My suggestion is to start with Fedora 22- MATE
and ask for any problem you have

For VM use (if it's possible)
for 32 Bits OS: 2G RAM and 2xCPU and 20-30G Hard-disk
for 64 Bits OS: 4G RAM and 2xCPU and 40-60G Hard-disk (CT MultiArch)

Sir
give us more info
-VM memory, HD etc?
-Did you give "sudo root permissions" to installation user
-Did you install "System Libraries" ?

Open a specific linux VM, (MintLinux for example) to have common reference OS

Excuse me, I forgot that...

1) I want to program in Linux. My PC is a Intel I3. 4Gb. I use VMWare 10 Worktstation. I create the virtual machine with 1.Gb RAM with 60Gb disk.

2) Sudo root permissions: YES

3) Yes: I installed all System Libraries in all cases.

Now, I'm trying with Fedora 22 Worktstation with Mate. VMWare 1.5 Gb with 60Gb disk

I confirm that I was never able to do Linux or FreeBSD distro work on VMWare or VirtualBox with less than 2 gigas RAM.

That's OK. I made it work FAST inside a Fedora x64 with 2Gb!

Thank you, my friend. Now I have a last question: I need to program a deamon, like a Service in Windows. I know a lot about services in Windows. But I do not know HOW to START programming a daemon inside CodeTyphon.

Is there some component or template to do that, like Delphi has? In Delphi You do "New->Other->Service Application". Is there something similar in CT?

Regards...

Huh, I am not sure I understood but you may create a fpc application and then run it via the StartUp manager.

Example with Mint => www.howtogeek.com/103640/how-to-make-pro...ly-in-linux-mint-12/
