No timeline Sir
1) CT source uncompressed is about 2.5 Gbytes, because most of source host site have limits.
2) We don't agree with the rules of most SVN, GIT or Hg hosting sites.. CT it's a FREE software.

At this time, our people make tests to host SVN to our Servers or
we think to make our software versioning and revision control system (we are programmers).

If you have your own server with shell access, take a look at GitLab. You can set your personal git server without any limitation.

gitlab.org/

Let me know if you need any help with setup or usage.

edit: There is also a online demo of web interface on demo.gitlab.com/

edit 2: I forgot one very important thing to mention - public access is added in version 6.2 from Oct 2013, so if you find a post saying that is impossible to have public access in GitLab or info that feature is not done yet... that only means that you read some old info. :)

Best thing is that you can have public and private repos at same time without any limitation.

If you referring to Ruby in that case, yes it's needed.

This is what you need:

Linux
ruby 1.9.3+
git 1.7.10+
redis 2.0+
MySQL or PostgreSQL

Ubuntu/Debian recommended by developers, but I have seen very nice tutorial for Arch linux too.

Edit:
Official setup guide here
ArchWiki guide here
