I'm very often using RTC components and would like to see them in CodeTyphon because I need to install them and recompile Lazarus again after CodeTyphon clean install. I suppose anyone who'll try them once will use them always :)
Here is my RTC SDK 2.85 version attached, it's almost the same version as on SourceForge, but it really compiles and installs on current Lazarus version and needs no other changes.

For anyone like me, struggling to use CodeTyphon as a simple toolkit, would you please clarify what it is we should do with those parts of your SDK that refer to 'Delphi', and in particular to:

_'2.) INSTALL RTC SDK components

After you have unpacked the files in a folder of your choice
and started Delphi, open the rtcSDK package for your Delphi version:

- "rtcSDK_D4.dpk" for Delphi 4
- "rtcSDK_D5.dpk" for Delphi 5
- "rtcSDK.dpk" for Delphi 6 - 2007

You will find those files in the "Lib" folder.

Click the "Install" button to compile and install the package.
When compiled, you will see a message listing all components installed.

After that, from the Delphi menu, under "Tools / Environment Options",

Thank you.

As you can see in help file, if you want to install RTC under Lazarus you'll need to compile and then install rtcsdk_fpc.lpk. You don't need Delphi and BCB versions for installing RTC under Lazarus (CodeTyphon's edition too). You can remove those file package files if you want.

Hello eaglext,

İ want to ask why you use RTC compenents very often. What is the advantage over Synapse, indy, lnet, fpweb, free Spider etc.. i know the database manipulation over tcp functionality..is there something else importand for you?
İ have not to much experience with RTC , i only ask for knowing what can be done with RTC
Sorry for my English..hope you undertand my question and thank you again sharing fixed component with us.Please post it to Lazarus community too.

Regarts.

We are using RTC components alot on my work. For me it's better that Indy. I didn't tried fpweb and Spider so I can't say anything about them. About Synapse - it's great components and it's your way to decide what component do you want to use. I'd rather prefer RTC because its implementation for my client-server solutions is easier: the RtcFunction works in similar manner as web services and I like this.
About sharing RTC with Lazarus community - I already did this (you can see on my first post there are a link to FPC wiki page), just have no idea where I can put RTC components fixed for FPC - I have no access to original sourceforge repository with original components... If you have any idea you can do it by yourself, I will be grateful!
