I have run into this problem several times. If I put an Edit.text box on a panel and then make the panel not visible, I can then no longer access the data (numeric only) in the Edit.text.
Also, if I just make the Edit.text box not visible, I can't access the data either. Such as: field := Edit.text. What is even stranger, I can access the Edit.text data in the above scenarios on
Windows 7, but people on other OSs can't.

Afraid I can't help you with that. If I try to make a small example. it doesn't do that. The program I have that did it is too large to supply. Simply removing the EditBox from the panel to the main form, fixed the problem.
