Hello all,

I decided to leave VB6 after a long fight, I can describe my self as a VB6 expert in programming databases, ActiveX components and interfacing using RS-232 and TCP/IP with medical instruments especially clinical laboratory instruments.
Actually I have a very successful application for managing clinical laboratories information (LIS) and reporting wise and also as I mentioned before interfacing with the instruments.

I want to use CT from now on for porting my current interface program and any future applications (it is hard right now to port my LIS).
I have basic knowledge of the Pascal programming language, played a bit with Delphi, Lazarus and lately with CT and I like it so far (.NET is no choice for me!!).
I need to make the transition and I need a book or a step by step guide to :
1- Advance my Pascal knowledge.
2- Master CT V-IDE.
3- Good tutorial for database (Client/Server scenario preferably with PostgreSQL).
4- Tutorial for RS-232 (Serial communication) and TCP/IP.

Also I need to make CT IDE dockable, is it possible and how?

Thank you very much in advance.
Keep up the great work guys.

Sir
first of all, welcome to our CodeTyphon Community
now:
1)-Any Object pascal book it's OK or start here
2)-No book for CT at this time, the Typhon IDE it's very simple V-IDE
3)-CT has many open source Database packages, with samples
4)-CT has many open source RS-232 (Serial communication) and TCP/IP packages, with samples

and final you can make Typhon BIG IDE dockable with one click
screens from OpenIndiana 2015.10 tests (now)

Sir
programming for us it's an Art, we give only the tool (CT), the user himself is the artist

For any questions or suggestion we are here
have fun...
