In order to install and correctly compile CT4.80 under PC-BSD 10/10.1 with KDE, one has to install/update PulseAudio as the default installation lacks capabilities support and this makes Typhon hang on start.
Luckily, is very easy to fix this.

Before starting CT4.8 installation, open a shell/Konsole session and type:

cd /usr/ports/audio/pulseaudio
sudo make deinstall
sudo make reinstall

and then reboot. Upon logon, the system will notify you for available updates to PulseAudio and in particular an upgrade to v5. Accept to install all updates and reboot once more.
After that, you can proceed installing/compiling CT on the system, using Qt4 as the default widget set.
