It is not possible for me to install CodeTyphon Lazarus anymore.:(

In the past installing was OK, but now I i'm not able to install.

I removed the pp, Lazarus en CodeTyphon directories on the C: drive.
Via CodeTyphon Center I install free Pascal (Clean, Extract Source and Build Compile)
Afterwards I install Lazarus (Lazarus clean, Extract source, Lazarus 32Bit build BigIDE)

No success.
I tried on a different PC, also no success.
Hereby the script outputs for PP and Lazarus.

Sir
-Did you remove preview ver of FreePascal and Lazarus? (NOT Codetyphon Edition)
-Did you run CodeTyphon as Administrator?
-Dir you try Setup.bat (option 7)?
-Please Run from Codetyphon Center=>CodeTyphon=>'Remove and Build ALL (FPC+Lazarus BigIDE)' command

I Did remove previous ver of FreePascal and Lazarus
I Did run CodeTyphon as Administrator?
I Did run Setup.bat (option 7)?

I did run from Codetyphon Center=>CodeTyphon=>'Remove and Build ALL (FPC+Lazarus BigIDE)' command

I even removed all references in the Windows registery to Free Pascal and Lazerus.

I have also installed Delphi RAD Studiao 2010 (could that be a problem?)

On a different clean PC the same problem.

But still no luck in installation:

I don't think the problem is with Windows version. I have English WinXP Home 32bit SP3.
There is a problem with "fpc.cfg" since FPC can find "system" unit.

Sure specifying the right source paths doesn't helps.
I have problem with components:

Yep,I used own FPC 2.4.3 specified in a system PATH variable.
Will try to use the default one provided with CodeTyphon .

Edit:
Okies. Now added the freshly compiled FPC 2.5.1 from CodeTyphon path into PATH environmental variables.
This time I am getting problems with GLScene package:

From FPC 2.4.3 to 2.5.1 some things changed ...

Remove all from C: driver and old FPC-Lazarus installations
and "build all" from CodeTyphon Center

Ok. I did some other test. I installed CodeTyphon Lazarus on Windows 7 32 bits (dutch) in a VirtualBox environment and everything is ok. After that I copied the Lazarus and pp directory to WindowsXP and voila all is ok. So I think compiling Lazarus or Free Pascal in Windows XP behaves different as in Windows 7.

I will try the same test by installing CodeTyphon Lazarus In a VirtualBox for Windows XP to check.

So standby for the results.

Finally solved the problem and got IDE running :)
There is lots of neat extra components and I will need to check out their licences.

The problem was that I was using D:\ partition. I needed to copy CodeTyphon folder
to Windows installation disk - C:\ . That was the problem. :)

Method1
Please go to your /etc/ directory end delete fpc.cfg is from Old Freepascal installation

copy CodeTyphon fpc.cfg to your /etc (/user/lib/codetyphon/bin/binfpc/i386-linux

and give to you (username) Linux permissions to read this new file /etc/fpc.cfg

sudo rm -f /etc/fpc.cfg
sudo cp -f /user/lib/codetyphon/bin/binfpc/i386-linux/fpc.cfg /etc/
sudo chmod 644 /etc/fpc.cfg

But this is automatic procedure from CodeTyphon ...so

Method2

try to remove /etc/fpc.cfg ( sudo rm -f /etc/fpc.cfg )

and run from CTC "remove and build ALL"

have fun...

CT 2.30 installs flawlessy on Win XP.

Only the file associations are not adjusted to the new locations.
.lpr, .lpi, .pas, .pp point to the old locations. This can be corrected manually, so it's no problem.

Also Remove and Build ALL does not remove CT 2.20 installations c:\lazarus and c:\pp remain untouched. It just adds the c:\codetyphon directory with content.
But this doesn't affect functionality.
The new CT 2.30 runs fine.

rain wrote: Also Remove and Build ALL does not remove CT 2.20 installations...

It never did. Every time you should either cleanup using old CTC or remove old files manually.
Haven't you read some other messages about installation problems? Every time sternas asks whether you run cleanup or not. Even if new CT removes smth that belong to old one - no one ever said it should.
And on top of that, sometimes uninstalling old CT with new CTC ends in loss of opportunity to install ANY version of CT. If someone want deny this - just install CT 1.6 (yes, even now I'm using ver 1.6 CT, as it proved itself as stable one, where glscene runs fine, and there's no some errors like "it need to be implemented" although 1.6 already did the same thing, and so on and so forth) and then use "remove and build all" option from CT 2.2 installator or CTC menu. After this xp sp3 pro cannot build neither big nor small ide. And cleanup "by hands" is a long and confusing procedure.

Let sternas correct me if I'm wrong, but I've some code samples which compiles in 1.6. and refuse to compile in any of the later CT. And I've wrote it here, but got no response. And tomorrow I'll try to change old fpc.cfg with new one (although i Did cleanup, and just can't understand why there's old file, and why it's not overwritten automatically during installation if it shares the same place with old one...)

If anyone interested in my samples that lead lazarus to crash - tell me, cause just posting isn't enough, but i'm afraid my samples will be ignored as some of my messages... and... well, it's not about CT, but any attachment is GONE after submitting a post.

I'm not trying to MAKE someone to do smth, I just want to help, as I really want new, better version of what I'm already have... But, please, if you has smth important to do (like new ct 2.3) let us all know, that our problems are intended to be solved soon, as new ver is comming out soon... Else it's makes me (personally) feel like there's no point in feedback, as there's no reaction.

Sir
CT version 2.30 is the best until now
and GLScene run ok to all CT Host Layers

We make the new CT 2.30 directory structure:
-for better installation
-to solve makefiles problems
-to prepare CT for next Generation Plan with Rolling installation...
etc

CT is dynamic project and we try to make it better.
For sample, at lab version

1)We add to pl_win_directx pkg, support for DirectX 10/11 and
this action request some CT code changes...

2)And the new (experimental) pl_Lava pkg request some CT code changes...

Please Sir,
my suggestion is to remove old installation files (I can post a script file after your request)
and try to install new CT ver 2.30

oh, a screen from pl_Lava pkg on Debian Linux 6.0.3 64 bit...

Here's what I've done:
- run ctc 1.6
- "IDE settings clear"
- "remove lazarus from disk"
- "clean lazarus"
- "remove FPC from disk"
- "clean FPC"
- check for any remaining folders on disc C. None was found (there was no "pp", "lazarus", "lazarus temp", "codetyphon")
Warning: Spoiler!

- unzip to C: ct v2.3
- run ct 2.3
- "FPC extract source"
- "FPC 32bit build compiler"
- "lazarus extract source"
- "lazarus 32bit build big ide"

And here's what I've got: 4aiman.ucoz.ru/warehouse/log.7z

And as for examle I told earlier...
Here is project with some tab controls and glsceneviewer (only 87.6 Kb). When opened under ubuntu 10.10, Lazarus would crash. Could you check that, please?
