I have seen this issue myself and reported by many others.

While I never had any issues with CT installation up until 5.40, I could never install 5.40 and later in its entirety on any Linux box. I always tried to install it on brand new Linux Mint Virtual Boxes. Linux installation fails while building Typhon32 with the error "Can't find unit system used by fcllaz". But the installation works just fine as usual on Windows 64bit OS.

Anyways, what is this unit? Is this a Pascal unit that will be built only for certain CPU architecture such as 32bit?
Since all source code files are in compressed format, I could not locate that file using find command in Linux. Any one knows in which archive I can find the related files?

Thanks,

I am having this problem only with Typhon32 and its build log from CT Center is attached. I did install system libraries before the build via "HostPC -> Install System Libraries"

The machine is a VMWare virtual machine running Linux Mint 17.2 MATE 64bit.
/dev/sda1 mounted as / with 103GB available
4 GB memory allocated to the virtual machine from a total of 8GB on the host.

Thanks!

My Linux Box was installed with just default options.
Can I install them manually?

Sir
MintLinux is one of our "main" LAB Linux distribution
Please,
-Open CTCenter =>Settings and set MultiArch enable
-From CTCenter =>HostPC=>Install System Libraries
-Finally rebuild FPC32 and Typhon32

and please check your Mint installation

if you want, I can post many screens

You don't have to post your screens, I trust you!!

Currently I am switching between VMs at my work and at home. So that might create discrepancies as well.
Tonight I will create a new VM based on Linux Mint 17.2 and try step by step and save all log files. I usually build/install directly from the terminal by selecting option 8. But you always recommend building it from within CT Center. What is the preferred way, anyways?

I never had any problems with older versions of CT. I have been trying CT from its very old days (I work with Delphi on a daily basis at work!).
I think things started changing from Mint 17.x onwards. (When I tried to install CT 5.5 on Windows 10 Enterprise Virtual Box that also failed even after installing DirectX, but that is a different topic!)

Thanks for maintaining such a fantastic cross platform development package!!

My suggestion for your new installation is to use
VM with minimum: 4G RAM - 2xCPU and 60 G bytes Hard Disk and with
Lab CT 5.6 download from here
has many changes

and have fun... :)

That is not a stand alone download, correct?

Sorry, I got the link when I logged in!

Finally I found the problem I was having since 5.40 and Linux Mint 17.x.

I always install my CT using the command line menu as shown below. I always go by the order as shown in the menu and install System Libraries before doing anything else!
Actually the next option (12) for Mutli Architecture Setup has some influence on the required system libraries!

So you must select "Option 12" and set the Multi Architecture option and only after that you should install system libraries, "Option 0".

Big thanks to Sternas for helping me out!
