Setting "Drop Down Count" for Comboboxes  in general options doesn't work since few versions.

Can you give us more details ?
 

I have tried to update my older CT version with newest one (Win 8.1, x86_64), but during this process an error message raises like xcopy couldn't find or so. This destroys my old installation because of the interrupted script process. I said to myself: "Ok lets start from the beginning and create a new installation". After the download I tried to start the setup procedure under administrator rights but I'm always getting the rights error. I deleted the admin check in the batch files, the installation stopped and told me that it was not possible to write into the codetyphon path. I have tried to change the write state of the directory but nothing helps. What can I do now?

PS: Several days before MS rolled out a new update process. Could that be the reason?

Did you have any antivirus in your PC ?
Did you have any other FPC installation ?

Yes I have the Defender and the newest Lazarus version installed.

My suggestion is to rename the lazarus folder
and try to install CT again.

If the CTCenter work in your PC,
try to "Remove and Build ALL" from CTCenter

Example:
I have set "drop down count" in general options to 25.
I put combobox on form, but it's value in properties > dropdowncount is 8 instead 25.

"drop down count" in general options is only for TyphonIDE Settings
NOT for projects

Is it possible to set default value for projects?

You must set "visually" the "DropDownCount" property of TComboBox

or
onCreate of TComboBox parent form with code
 

or
to create your TComboBox class, with code to handle the DropDownCount property as you want.


 

I know both solutions, but I want to set default value (save in .frm file) to avoid setting it for every new combobox.
